I saw this story in the WaPo and just had to do a diary on it. If only all invasions were accidental..sigh

The Swiss Army got lost and accidentally invaded Liechtenstein, well a few of them, 170 to be exact.
According to Swiss daily Blick, the 170 infantry soldiers wandered just over a mile across an unmarked border into the tiny principality early Thursday before realizing their mistake and turning back.
A spokesman for the Swiss army confirmed the story but said that there were unlikely to be any serious repercussions for the mistaken invasion.
Apparently, no one noticed the invasion, which is ok since Liechtenstein doesn't have an army and couldn't have done much about it anyway. Liechtenstein is smaller than DC and has a grand total of 34,000 people, and their national income is mostly from stamp sales to collectors. The Swiss were armed with guns, but had no ammunition, so they weren't a big threat to anyone.
Interior ministry spokesman Markus Amman said nobody in Liechtenstein had even noticed the soldiers, who were carrying assault rifles but no ammunition. "It's not like they stormed over here with attack helicopters or something," he said
Now that is the way to invade a country, accidentally and without ammo. I am going to go out and buy some Swiss cheese today, just to thank them for the laugh they gave me, and I hope all my fellow Kossacks. I know this is a silly diary, but right now, I think we could all use a good laugh, one where we don't feel like crying too.
